Official rules for all Big Geek Fundraiser tournaments. Please review these rules before participating.

General Tournament Rules

Rules Applicable to All Tournaments

These rules apply to both Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Street Fighter 6 tournaments

  • Check-in Time: All participants must check in at the tournament desk at least 15 minutes before their scheduled match time.
  • Sportsmanship: All participants are expected to exhibit good sportsmanship. Unsportsmanlike conduct may result in disqualification.
  • Equipment: While basic equipment is provided, participants are welcome to bring their own controllers/accessories (at their own risk).
  • Technical Issues: In the event of technical difficulties, tournament organizers will make every effort to resolve issues fairly.
  • Rule Interpretation: Tournament organizers have final say in all rule interpretations and disputes.
  • Disqualification: Failure to appear for a match within 5 minutes of the scheduled start time may result in disqualification.
  • Prize Distribution: Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 finishers in each tournament immediately following the conclusion of the finals.

Additional Rules

  • All vehicle parts are permitted
  • Track selection is random for all races
  • All DLC tracks are allowed
  • No pausing during races (emergency situations excepted)
  • Any intentional disruption of other players may result in disqualification

Tournament Structure

Round 1: Heat Stage

• 4 heats with random seeding (potential for 8 heats depending on player numbers)

• Each heat plays 1 Grand Prix (4 races)

• Top player from each heat advances

Round 2: Finals

• 4 heat winners compete (possibility of two semi-finals matches depending on player count)

• 6-race finals

• Highest total points wins tournament

• 16 players, 8 matches

• 8 winners advance to Quarter Finals

Round 2: Quarter Finals

• 8 players, 4 matches

• 4 winners advance to Semi-Finals

Round 3: Semi-Finals

• 4 players, 2 matches

• 2 winners advance to Finals

Final Round

• 2 players compete

• Winner claims tournament victory

Specific Match Rules

  • Pausing: No pausing mid-match. Player who pauses will lose that round.
  • Controller Disconnects: Game will be paused and resumed when reconnected. Multiple disconnections may result in round loss.
  • Character Switching: Loser of a round may switch character. Winner must stay with previous character.
  • Stage Selection: Training Room is banned. Random stage selection unless players agree on a specific stage.
  • Grace Period: 5-minute grace period before match start. Failure to arrive results in disqualification.
  • Double K.O.: In case of a "Double K.O.", the round is null and players replay the match.
